American Moral Decline

by Cameron Forbes

Toney Greer, an American activist and CEO of The Royal Society of the United States visited Vanderbilt University and while greeting everyone a few Alumni members asked Toney some great questions regarding the decline of morality within America. “I believe by candidly acknowledging our issues openly and honestly we can easily source solutions that will make all parties involved happy.” - Toney Greer

1. How did we get to a point of moral decline?

A combination of factors play into the decline of our Nation’s morality. It starts from the foundation of our home training

- the lack of integrity when it comes to a moral compass, and the application of accountability amongst society.

- Modern day leadership is not completely invested in providing a united effort in rehabilitation and assistance to provide the backing and support to raise generations of moral living

- Societies acceptance of the “its someone else’s problem” syndrome versus coming together to bring viable solutions to family problems at large and domestic based on the resources local and beyond.

- The decreased age in women giving birth (simply having kids and not being actual mothers)

- Incarceration rates of men which hinders families from the inclusive ability to instill morals in their children

- The inability to escape America’s poverish lifestyle due to income adversity. Mothers / families across our nation has reached record breaking numbers of being single parents and it’s hard to tend to their children due to working 2 - 3 jobs just to make ends meet.

2. Do you think technology has something to do with this decline in morals?

Technology can’t be to blame for the declination of morality in our nation and around the world however technology does have a role. When there are no parameters at which we safe guard our youth and younger generations and the accountability for our “of age” society we should blame ourselves for sitting around hoping and wishing with no action.

technology can be used to completely change this declining morality in society by recognizing that if we put systems in place to not condone the behavior endorsing foul demonstrations of immortality we will see tremendous results. Policies and plans are meaningless without action of/and swift tactical procedures.

3. Will a decline in moral result into a societal collapse?

If we do not find a great non biased leader/ship whom is able to gather real issues based on the very people who run this country (everyday working people) and re-instill the very foundational basis we as a nation chose to build to establish ourselves on (the moral compass of Christian based values from the Bible which is GOD and the Bible) and our integrity then there’s a great chance for America’s morality to decline and lead us further into the darkness of acceptance of where things are headed.

**The declination of morality is present because of the lack of accountability.
